The 2021 “Smart China Cup”: A Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Big Data and Smart Technologies ---- Registration Closed and the Final will Start in the Second Half of August

This week, registration for the 2021 “Smart China Cup”: A Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Big Data and Smart Technologies was closed. In the second half of August, the top 10 contestants of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, and Chengdu-Chongqing divisions will enter the final to compete for an award of RMB150,000.

The Cup is hosted by the 2021 SCE Organizing Committee, co-organized by the Chongqing Communist Youth League, Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, Chongqing Investment Promotion Bureau, and the People’s Government of Yuzhong District of Chongqing, and executed by Chongqing Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center and the Communist Youth League Yuzhong Committee.

Held for Two Consecutive Years, Attracting Nearly 1,000 Projects in Total

The 2021 “Smart China Cup” is an important competition of the Smart China Expo (SCE) 2021. The theme this year is “Smart Technology: Empowering Economy and Enriching Life”. The Cup serves as a platform for creative young people across China to compete with each other on innovation and entrepreneurship in order to encourage the innovation of big data and smart technologies in multiple sectors.

The “Smart China Cup” has been held two years in a role, with projects involving high and new technologies in smart healthcare, industrial AI, commercial big data, smart hardware, and more.

This year, 664 projects from 28 provinces and municipalities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Heilongjiang have registered for the Cup, up by 33.8% compared to the 497 projects the previous year.

Opportunities for Participating Projects to Enjoy Multiple Support Policies and Receive a Reward of up to RMB150,000

This years, participating projects involve innovations of big data and smart technologies in areas such as industrial integration, government administration, people-oriented services, public goods, and social governance. They have put emphasis on industries including the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence, block chain, information security, and biotechnology.

To encourage young talents commit to the innovation and entrepreneurship on big data and smart technologies in sectors such as industrial integration, government administration, people-oriented services, public goods, and social governance, participants will be eligible for supportive policies including tax benefits, financial support, and rent subsidies. In addition, participants and participating projects also have the opportunity to join the “Chongqing Talent Initiative” and enjoy preferential entry into start-up bases and industrial parks.

Next, contestants in the five regional divisions (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, and Chengdu-Chongqing) will compete for regional Top 10. The Top 10 contestants of every regional division will enter the final which will be held in the second half of August.

The final includes several sectors such as roadshow presentation, Q&A, dialogue with investors. Awards include the first prize, the second prize, the third prize and 10 consolation prizes. The Final winner will also be awarded up to RMB150,000.
