Founded in 1951, Chongqing Jiaotong University is a multi-disciplinary university with distinctive traffic characteristics and a focus on engineering. The university covers an area of more than 3,000 mu, with more than 30,000 full-time students, more than 2,200 teaching and administrative staff, and more than 160 person-times of national and provincial talents. The university has 4 first-level discipline doctor's degree authorization points, 3 post-doctoral research stations, 16 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 64 general undergraduate majors. The university has 6 national science and education platforms and 42 provincial and ministerial science and technology innovation platforms. The university has carried out research on the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of mountain traffic system for a long time, and has obtained a batch of international and domestic leading major scientific research achievements including "R&D and Application of New Technology for Highway and Bridge Inspection" and "Key Technology and Equipment for Operation of Mountain Expressway", etc. It has successively won 16 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and National Technological Invention Awards, 524 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards and more than 20 scientific and technological achievements.
