The University has 8 first-level discipline doctor degree authorization points, 14 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, 3 doctor professional degree authorization points, 11 master professional degree authorization points, 7 post-doctoral research stations; besides, it has 4 national key disciplines, 9 disciplines ranking among the top 1% of ESI in the world, among which the Clinical Medicine ranks among the top 1‰ of ESI in the world. 

At present, the University has 19 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 national clinical teaching and training demonstration center, 3 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 national virtual simulation experimental teaching center, 7 national first-class courses, 1 national ideological and political demonstration course, 4 national excellent resource sharing courses and 3 national elected video open courses. The University now has 57 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (part-time), overseas high-level talents, Changjiang Scholars, Outstanding Youth and other national talents. At present, it has 71 national, provincial and ministerial research platforms including State Key Laboratory and National Clinical Medicine Research Center. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the University has taken the lead in undertaking more than 5600 national science and technology major projects, national key R&D plans and other projects, with a fund of more than RMB 1.1 billion; The University has published more than 10,000 SCI papers and won more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial awards such as National Science and Technology Award and National Innovation Competition Award.
