Beijing WeLion New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "WeLion") is an incubator enterprise for solid-state batteries affiliated with the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Founded in 2016 and located in Doudian, Fangshan, Beijing, the Company specializes in solid-state lithium-ion batteries, encompassing research and development, production, marketing and sales. It is recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and boasts over 40 years of experience in solid-state battery industry research, achieving several "first-time" breakthroughs in various solid-state lithium battery technologies.
The Company was jointly initiated by Academician Chen Liquan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Researcher Li Hong, and Professor-level Senior Engineer Yu Huigen of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has brought together top-notch talents in battery materials, cells, systems and related fields. The Company currently employs over 1100 personnel, with research and development staff accounting for 30%, including more than 20 doctoral and over 140 master's degree holders.
WeLion possesses a comprehensive industrial chain layout and capacity planning. It currently operates four major bases respectively in: Fangshan, Beijing; Liyang, Jiangsu; Huzhou, Zhejiang; and Zibo, Shandong. With customer demand as its foundation, WeLion ensures production capacity through these bases, with clear production line planning and a promising future.
