On 20 July, Duan Chenggang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area, carried out a “road office” to inspect the urban quality improvement of Liangjiang New Area.

Duan Chenggang inspected Douxi Interchange, Jinxing Avenue, Yuelai Avenue, Renhe Interchange, Lijia interchange, and other traffic locations of their roadside greening enhancement, road construction fence management, construction site fence rectification, greening, and beautification of slopes. He pointed out that it is vital to highlight the key areas of urban construction, to adhere to the problem-oriented, goal-oriented, and result-oriented principles, to accelerate to make up for the shortcomings and weaknesses, and constantly improve urban functions and support so that the traffic is smoother and the city is better.

In the Yuelai River Bay viewing platform, along the riverside walk, Duan Chenggang took a careful look at the river bay landscape, leisure facilities, and smart experience facilities, and listened to the updates on the implementation of the river bay landscape enhancement project. He said that we should make good use of the big data and innovation achievements, expand the featured smart application scenarios, make Yuelai a cultural destination, ensure the construction of the Yuelai Art Museum, “Yue” Design and Creative Arts Exhibition Center, and Smart Island, etc., and continue to create more new spaces of high-quality life, and build a beautiful Yuelai River Bay.

During the visit, Duan Chenggang pointed out that the city of the people should be built by the people and for the people. Liangjiang New Area closely focuses on building itself as a demonstration area for a high-quality life and has planned and implemented improvement projects concerning people’s livelihood and urban functions, which are truly the projects that are welcomed by the people and for the people.

We should thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the General Secretary’s important speech delivered on 1 July and his important remarks on urban construction, conscientiously implement the requirements of the CPC Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government on economic and social development, so as to ensure high-standard urban planning, construction and management, accelerate the building of a modern city model that is international, green, smart, humanistic, and cultural, and build a desirable and high-quality living place.

We should optimize the spatial layout and put people’s lives and comfort in the first place. We should design the urban space to be rational, to exhibit landscape integrity, and cultural continuity, scientifically plan the growth and development paths. It is our goal to ensure that the space is efficient and comfortable with clear waters and green mountains and that the environment is livable, business-friendly, and tourist-friendly. We will promote industry-city阿 integration, with a balance of employment and housing, ecological livability, and convenient transportation.

To protect the environment, we should adhere to the principles of ecology-first and green development, integrate the city into the nature and vice versa, create more leisure corner parks, green urban slopes, clear water, and green riverside, and lush mountainsides. On the same day, Duan Chenggang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area, visited Yuelai International Exhibition City and Lijia Smart Park to inspect the preparation works for the Smart Expo 2021.

At Yuelai International Exhibition City, Duan Chenggang inspected the construction of the Smart China Expo, communicated with relevant persons in charge and learned about the preparatory works. He pointed out that we should make good use of the final preparation period, focus on upgrading the overall environment and appearance of the Exhibition City, and ensure supporting services in advance, such as the venue, security, and traffic so that guests from all over the world will see a more beautiful, artistic and smarter Yuelai.

In Lijia Smart Park, Duan Chenggang visited the smart life experience center under construction, the exhibition hall of the two great paintings Qianli Jiangshan Tu (Thousand Miles Rivers and Mountains) and Qingming Shanghe Tu (Along the River During the Qingming Festival), the construction and planning hall of Liangjiang New Area, Liangjiang Industrial Internet Innovation Experience Center, Lijia Smart Hall, and other venues. He inspected the planning, layout, software, and hardware facilities, listened to updates regarding the promotion of the “Smart Plus” initiatives by relevant personnel, and gave guidance on the next step of work. He urged the persons in charge to speed up the progress of the project under the premise of ensuring safety and quality and strive to build a high-quality and demonstrative project.

Duan Chenggang pointed out that the Smart China Expo is an important platform and window to show the development and achievements of Chongqing’s big data smart technology.

We need to thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of the General Secretary “to continue to run a high-standard Smart China Expo and ensure in-depth participation of the digital economy international cooperation”. Following the arrangements of the CPC Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, we need to seize the opportunities of the Smart China Expo, ensuring in-depth implementation of the ten major projects of Liangjiang New Area, especially the construction project of Lijia Yuelai Smart Park, and accelerate the coordinated development of Lijia and Yuelai.

We need to focus on creating scenarios and the “exhibition +” and “smart +” concepts, leverage the innovation results of big data and smart technology, comprehensively improve the supporting functions and service levels, and enhance the participation, experience, and integration of the “smart” element. We need to focus on project construction, speed up the progress of the “Smart China Expo Village”, Yuelai Hui, Yuelai Center, Lijia Smart Hall, and other projects, with a clear guiding map and timeline to ensure that the project is completed and put into use as scheduled.

We need to coordinate due responsibilities, improve leadership, organization, and coordination, and establish specialized groups for the preparation works. All relevant departments should play their own roles, show team spirits, and shoulder the responsibilities so that we can provide service supports for the Expo.

We need to emphasize security and stability, although the schedule is tight and the task is heavy, we must firmly guard the bottom line of security, coordinate development, and security, and resolutely put an end to safety-related accidents during the process so that we can create a good environment for the Expo.
