As part of the 2023 Smart China Expo and under the theme "New track, New life," the orienteering race will feature four dynamic sub-events.

The NEV energy consumption assessment race is at the heart of this, which will gauge the performance of mainstream NEVs in diverse road conditions, specifically focusing on energy consumption and driving experience. The data collected will subsequently be shared with vehicle manufacturers to encourage product design and efficiency innovation.

In a bid to provide variety, the event will also include a locomotive riding orientation race, a classic car parade race, and a tuned car exhibition race, amalgamating competition, entertainment, and visual appeal.

The sub-events will kick off simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. in Nanchuan District. This initiative also marks the inaugural large-scale collaboration between Chengdu and Chongqing automobile and motorcycle associations and clubs.

The excitement doesn't end with the races. A post-event gala is to be planned, inviting attendees to watch musical performances, motorcycle stunts, car shows and a chance to savor local delicacies. An accompanying forum will also provide a platform for discussions, fostering professional exchanges on the intelligent connected NEV among enthusiasts, experts, and industry professionals.

Over 40 NEV industry-supporting enterprises

Wang Lidong, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Commission, spoke highly of Nanchuan District, emphasizing its strategic location on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and role in the thriving automotive parts industry of West Chongqing.

Nanchuan's commitment to the NEV industry is evident in its fostering over 40 supporting enterprises. Chongqing Superwheel Tech Co., Ltd, a frontrunner in car wheel rims making, uses the original friction stir welding technology to produce ultra-lightweight automobile wheel rims, with performance indexes 25% higher and weight 25% lower than traditional products.

The district's traditional enterprises, like Chongqing Hengya Aluminum Co., Ltd., are also pivoting towards this new energy direction. Their efforts in improving energy conversion efficiency and reducing costs while meeting the demands of electric vehicle charging are commendable.

Through such competitions, Nanchuan hopes to bridge the gap between parts manufacturers and vehicle producers, fostering collaborations and encouraging innovation in the rapidly evolving world of NEVs.
