AIGC Illuminates Vast Potential of Industrial Information and Large-scale Models | Insights
Time:2023-09-07

Chongqing - "We're amazed by the progress in artificial general intelligence with the boom in AI-generated content (AIGC)," remarked Li Qiang, Vice President of Tencent and President of Government and Enterprise Business, during a high-end dialogue at the 2023 Smart China Expo (SCE 2023) on September 4.

Li provided insights into using AI's large models to build an intelligent connected ecosystem. He believed that AIGC had illuminated the vast potential of industrial information and large-scale models.

AIGC refers to the technical methods based on artificial intelligence, such as generative confrontation networks and large pre-training models. The core idea behind AIGC is to use artificial intelligence algorithms to generate content with creativity and quality.

Large-scale AI models driving digital economy

Li underscored Chongqing's notable ascent in the digital economy, placing it prominently in the country's top echelon. With over 20,000 digital enterprises, Chongqing stands out as one of the country's initial digital economy innovation and development pilot areas.

A notable force driving this growth is large-scale AI models, according to Li. "We are optimistic about the development prospects of large models," he said, suggesting their transformative potential in the sector.

In sync with this vision, global tech giant Tencent is championing the integration of large-scale AI models across industries. Li highlighted the company's innovative direction, highlighting Tencent's strategy to connect the digital and real economies.

A tangible testament to Tencent's AI strides is the impending release of an AI assistant for Tencent Meeting, the firm's conferencing solution.

This product is designed to manage diverse tasks, from extracting vital information and analyzing content to orchestrating the entire conferencing process, achievable with a single click. It promises to set a new benchmark in digital conferencing solutions.

Tackling challenging edge cases in autonomous driving

With a focus on the ICVs at this year's expo, Tencent showcases its strong abilities in intelligent transportation, unveiling a glimpse into the future of mobility.

Tencent's advanced driving simulation equipment drew a significant crowd in the exhibition area, an innovative system offering an immersive experience that integrates humans, vehicles, roads, and cloud technology.

It is designed to instantaneously mirror real-time traffic flow, events, and vehicle trajectories, allowing visitors to explore a simulated highway driving scenario.

Li stressed the importance of tackling challenging edge cases in autonomous driving. "To achieve true autonomy in driving, it's vital to manage unexpected scenarios adeptly. This necessitates the creation of a virtual training realm, where big data and artificial intelligence converge," he said.

Pushing the boundaries of training for autonomous systems, Tencent has harnessed simulation technology within virtual spaces. From avoiding gaping holes to collisions with animals, the company ensures that its autonomous systems are prepared for a wide variety of potential real-world situations.
