SSTP Incubation Teams Showcase International Cutting Edge Technology at SCE2023
Time:2023-09-07

Chongqing - The sixth edition of the Sino-Swiss Business Incubation Competition has successfully concluded at the 2023 Smart China Expo (SCE 2023). More than 350 technology teams from across the world participated in intelligent manufacturing and biomedical innovation, culminating with 22 project teams selected to compete at the exhibition as finalists.

Hosted by the Sino-Swiss Technopark based in the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, the high-profile project features a temperature-controlled air cargo container designed by the Swiss Airtainer team, who introduced their cost-effective and innovative cold chain solutions for aviation logistics.

When empty, these containers weighing 388kg provide optimal conditions for transporting high-value-added goods, such as drugs and vaccines. Additionally, the containers are equipped with high-performance solar panels, compressor technology, and intelligent systems, meaning that temperatures can be precisely managed in real-time.

Further, leading technological advances showcased during the finals include an ultra-high-speed railway vacuum tunnel designed by a team from Switzerland, which can potentially increase the maximum speed of trains up to 1,000 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, another team of competitors personally demonstrated an intelligent walking aid that can support the hips and knees of disabled patients. This smart gadget uses embedded fabric sensors to detect intended movements and can input additional force as needed, offering profound benefits for rehabilitation programs concerned with strength, endurance, and balance.

The large international contingent also featured the Electrochemical Simulation Team from the University of Oxford, the Asian Fresh E-Commerce Platform from France, the nanostructure carbon-based electrode project from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, and a clean energy conversion technology project from Malaysia.

In the biomedical group, a team named SunRegen introduced a new innovative drug produced due to their forward-looking research and development. This can treat conditions such as ophthalmic neurodegenerative diseases once they are approved for market sale and can even help blind patients recover their eyesight.
