Chen Min’er Announces SCE 2020 OL Closes and the “Lijia on Cloud” Event Starts

Fruitful exchanges on “cloud” sparked wisdom, interactions online inspired ideas. On 17 September, Smart China Expo 2020 Online came to a close at the Lakeside Digital Experience Center of Lijia Smart Park. The Expo focused on the theme of “Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life”. By combining the main and parallel venues, online and offline activities, real and virtual platforms, the Expo has pooled together wisdom and strength, provided brand new digital experiences for all kinds of enterprises and friends from all walks of life, and was a complete success.

Chen Min’er, Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, Zhang Xuan, Director-General of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress, Wang Jiong, Chairman of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese people’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Xu Yanhao, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, and municipal leaderships including Wang Fu, Duan Chenggang and Zheng Xiangdong attended the closing ceremony. Wu Cunrong, Standing Member of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor was entrusted by the Municipal Government to summarize the Smart China Expo 2020.

Inside the Lakeside Digital Experience Center of Lijia Smart Park, the notes of wisdom flowed and the rhythm of smart technology leaped. On the blue smart screen, the promo video Running Pace Never Relents of Smart China Expo 2020 Online gave a tour of the smart living space and feel the bright future of smart living. On the center of the main stage, the host woke a team of dexterous artificial intelligence robots, who joined hands with 20 children to sing a beautiful song; the human-screen interactive dance Dialogue with the Future let the audience fully appreciate the perfect combination of smart technology and art; the panoramic display of the SCE showed the exciting images of the Expo online and the promo video of Lijia Smart Park.

At the closing ceremony, Liu Duo, President of the China Academy of Information and Communication Research, released a white paper on the application of industrial Internet identification via video link. Ambassador of Portugal to China José Augusto Duarte, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Wu Zhiqiang, and citizen representative Zhao Xuefeng shared their experiences and feelings about the SCE 2020 OL via video links. Ambassador Duarte said that the advanced smart technology exhibited in the expo is extremely exciting and eye-opening. The Smart China Expo is not only a grand gathering of technology but also an event of ideas brainstorming. The joint participation of government, institutions, enterprises, and universities enables a broader space for the development of the smart industry, it is a boost of confidence for the cooperation between Portugal and China and Portugal looks forward to continuing to participate in the Smart China Expo next year. Wu said that the SCE 2020 OL was very impressive and pragmatic with a full series of exhibits, focusing on the new products, technologies, business models, and modes of the global smart technology and big data industry. Chongqing is in the process of transformation with the indomitable spirit from the “soul of the mountains”, building a more efficient, green, smart, sustainable development of the city, and continue to meet people’s aspirations for a better life. Zhao Xuefeng said that the SCE 2020 OL has brought Chongqing closer to the world, life closer to technology, and people closer to their dreams, which helps to seize the wonderful opportunities of smart technology and make the future life full of excitement and expectations.

In three days, guests and exhibitors of 23 countries and regions, 18 international sister cities, 10 provinces/autonomous regions/municipalities, with the help of modern information technology, achieved “screen to screen” interaction, scenario-based display, and launched a unique “cloud of the appointment”. Three Nobel Prize and Turing Award winners, 49 academicians of the two academies (CAE and CAS), 543 renowned experts and industry elites took to the stage and expressed their views online, offering a feast of inspirations. 5G factory, industrial Internet, satellite Internet, and other technologies were on panoramic display. Hundreds of black technologies shone on the stage, allowing the audience to deeply perceive the exhilarating trends of the progress of smart technology. Representatives of a large number of the Fortune 500 and China’s top 500 enterprises competed on the same stage, online participation of exhibitors and enterprises reached 551, more than 100 well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises launched deliverables online, nearly 20,000 participants competed online, 71 major investment projects were signed, with a total investment of RMB271.2 billion yuan. By the 17th, 274 media and 1,253 journalists worldwide focused on the SCE 2020 OL, with 890 million online media hits and readings.

At the closing session, Zhang Xuan, Wang Jiong, and Xu Yanhao presented awards to the winners and teams of the contests during the SCE. And the Expo has sent invitations to global guests for the event next year.
