China Railway Express Sees 25.6-Fold YoY Growth in Vehicle Exports in H1
Time:2023-08-04

A freight train loaded with 165 vehicles set off from China on July 25, aiming to reach its destination in Europe within just 14 days. This marks a significant reduction in transportation time compared to traditional sea or air freight methods.

Introducing freight services by China Railway Express from Chongqing to Europe via the Alashankou border crossing in Xinjiang in 2011 opened up a faster, more efficient alternative to sea or air freight. This rail route has seen impressive growth, boosted by China's Belt and Road Initiative, says Yuxinou Germany GmbH.

Serving Chongqing's vehicle industry via railway

In the first half of this year, the China Railway Express saw a remarkable 25.6-fold increase in vehicle exports compared to the same period last year. Over 42,000 vehicles were transported, with the total value of goods exceeding seven billion yuan (about USD 978.06 million). This growth underscores the railway's crucial role in supporting the intelligent new energy vehicle industry.

Chongqing's rising local car brand has capitalized on the robust supply chain and logistics system to succeed in overseas markets.

"Although we are a new car brand, established less than a year ago, we have already exported over 4,000 vehicles, exceeding our overseas sales forecasts," shared a spokesperson from the brand.

This achievement is partially thanks to China-Europe freight trains, which have transported several batches of vehicles to European markets, setting a new record for the brand's highest export volume since its inception.

"Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd has provided us with comprehensive, cost-effective, and highly efficient logistics services, significantly speeding up our expansion into overseas markets," the spokesperson added.

A safe, efficient, and convenient gateway for international logistics

Chongqing, one of China's major car manufacturing bases, is rapidly expanding its intelligent new energy vehicle industry. The city's exports of new energy vehicles skyrocketed by 156.9% from January to April year-on-year.

The China Railway Express has been instrumental in this growth, transporting more than 38,000 fully assembled vehicles, including new energy vehicles, in the year's first half. This represents a staggering 98.9-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

The railway has thus become a reliable, efficient, and convenient logistics gateway for Chongqing's intelligent new energy vehicle industry.

Yuxinou currently offers a variety of transportation solutions, such as container pallet transport, container chassis transport, and cage car transport, all aimed at giving Chongqing's car manufacturers robust logistical support in their overseas endeavors.

A spokesperson from Yuxinou's Market Department reiterated their commitment to providing safe, fast, and cost-effective logistics solutions for numerous car manufacturers, aiming to showcase more 'Made in China' products globally.
