Eyes on China's EV: Decoding Ten Buzzwords

Chongqing - In today’s world, there has been a growing global interest in the field of intelligent connected and new energy vehicles. Notably, the potential of the Chinese market has garnered widespread attention. 

Bridging News uses Meltwater, a global media monitoring platform, to analyze coverage and discussions on China’s electric vehicles (EV) and its related keywords in overseas media outlets and social media platforms throughout the past year. 

We extract the top ten keywords that are primary interests of the international audience regarding China’s EV landscape. The scope of monitoring covers more than 200 countries and regions outside the Chinese mainland, more than 90 languages, more than 300,000 news media websites, and mainstream social media such as Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest, and forums.

China’s prowess in battery manufacturing and R&D is unmatched, cornering a large portion of the global market share. Battery manufacturers such as CATL and BYD are growing into multinational giants and becoming battery suppliers for global car companies.

Climate and energy have always been the focus of international media reports. According to an in-depth observation from the Washington Post, For China, the world’s largest coal consumer, the push for EVs has accelerated the country’s decarbonization transition, which is good news for the climate.
