2019 Smart China Expo is around the corner! June 11th, 2019, the first press conference of the 2019 Smart China Expo (hereinafter referred to as SCE 2019) took place. It is released from the press conference that with the approval of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the SCE 2019 will be held on August 26th–29th in Chongqing International Expo Center. SCE 2019 will be jointly organized by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, PRC, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, PRC, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and China Association for Science and Technology.

Continuing with the theme of “Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life”, SCE 2019 will focus on a series of events including conferences, exhibitions, contests, and forums. Conference: Heads of political party and state will be invited to the Opening Ceremony to deliver remarks while foreign political dignitaries, renowned domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and experts and scholars will make speeches in the Big Data and Smart Technology Summit, inspiring innovation and embracing brighter prospects for smart industries. Exhibitions: With an estimated indoor exhibition area of over 150,000 sm2, the event will also be a showcase of the latest products, technologies, business forms and models of the global big data and smart industries. Contests: The finals and roadshows will be held as professional platforms for project execution and brain gain. Forums: Centering on the hot topics of 5G, “Smart Technology+” and Smart Development under the Belt and Road Initiative, leading entrepreneurs and academicians will have in-depth discussions on and provide solutions to the technology application bottlenecks and demand ends of big data and smart technology, thus empowering economy and enriching lives.

Singapore, the United Kingdom and Italy will be the guest countries of honor for the SCE 2019, whose special exhibition zones and series events will present their outcomes in smart industries. The political figures from the Guest Countries will explore topics like “smart government services”, “smart city” and “smart life”.

On June 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued 5G licenses to China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and China Broadcast Network and approved the four companies to operate the “Fifth generation digital cellular mobile communication service”. During SCE 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will be invited to jointly organize the “Belt and Road” Smart Development Conference so as to strengthen Chongqing’s role as a driver in Belt and Road cooperation, to send out Chongqing’s voice and to contribute Chongqing’s wisdom.

Around 5G, a hot topic with broad impact, we will invite operators, well-known suppliers and research institutes to jointly hold the 5G Smart Connectivity for the Future Summit, focusing on industrial transformation and the impact on social development brought about by the advancement of 5G enabling industries, to together discuss 5G development prospects and sharing 5G conveniences and advantages.

SCE 2019 will also co-host the Intel FPGA Smart Innovation Global Competition with Intel Corporation to call up FPGA-based products and projects from around the world and showcase top-level designs and examples. We will organize a collection of brand forums for well-known enterprises to create a grand collection of elites and wisdom and to explore more innovation windows.

At present, Alibaba, Huawei, and iFLYTECH have confirmed that they will continue to host relevant forums at SCE 2019.
