Release:ichongqing Time:2019-08-27 18:41:12

As one of the prominent conferences in the Smart China Expo 2019, the “Future Tech, Future Thinking Forum” was held in Chongqing on August 25. The forum is organized by the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University. Mr. Li Mingqing, the Vice Mayor of Chongqing, extended a warm welcome speech. Dr. Li Jizhen, the Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, and Professor Fan Shoushan, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, delivered keynote speeches. Nearly 400 industry experts and entrepreneurs attended the meeting.

Dr. Li Jizhen, the Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, explored industrial upgrading issue in the forum.

Today, industrial upgrading driven by science and technology has become the focus of the science and technology industry. Based on the background of China’s industrial development and modernization, Dr. Li Jizhen shared his opinion on this issue. “Since China’s reform and opening up, China has achieved rapid growth in many industries that are government-led and consumer driven,” he said. “Take China’s high-speed rail industry and China’s e-commerce industry as examples. They are respectively driven by national strategies and consumers to realize industrial upgrading.”

However, he also pointed out that China’s scientific and technological innovation capability has some deficiencies. These include weak original innovation capability and low level of core industrial technology. “Scientific and technological innovation ability is exactly the key to drive industrial upgrading, which we need to pay more attention to,” he said.

Professor Fan Shoushan, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, delivered a keynote speech.

“The future industrial development should pay more attention to the role of education,” expanded Academician Fan Shoushan. “Moreover, the government should increase investment in basic research disciplines and applied research disciplines, such as biological medicine, artificial intelligence, integrated circuit, and other disciplines, to realize the industrialization of scientific research results and promote industrial upgrading.”

Nearly 400 industry experts and entrepreneurs attended the forum.

The forum also invited well-known entrepreneurs to share their experiences in management of innovative high-tech enterprises, business startup and views on the future industry. “From the content production mode perspective, the combination of Artificial Intelligence and media industry enables more information to be combined quickly and orderly. The speed of content generation will be greatly improved. We did a study that extracted a lot of information from social media on the internet and used algorithms to calculate whether robots or humans produced it,” said Wang Lei, the founder, and president of Wenge Group. “It turns out it’s difficult to distinguish the difference between the content produced by robots or by humans.” This vivid example to illustrates the opportunity and challenge that the future media industry faces.

It is reported that more than 90 alumni enterprises from the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University are expected to participate in the Smart China Expo 2019 from 26 to 29 August. If you want to know more about experts’ views on the smart industry, stay tuned to iChongqing.
