Chongqing First Smart Hotel Unveiled

Self-service check-in, goods delivery by robots, and home control through voice commands are all available as wonderful new smart applications of technology. On July 16, Grand Metropark Liyuan Hotel Chongqing was unveiled, which is located at Sanxia Square in Shapingba District. The hotel was upgraded from Chongqing Liyuan Hotel to be the first smart hotel in Chongqing, realizing such functions as self-service check-in, facial recognition, goods delivery by robots and intelligent home control through voice commands.

After entering the hotel, customers need not check-in at the front desk, but through the self-service machine. Before the computer provides them with the room card and receipt, customers need to click the check-in button on the machine, carry out ID card authentication and facial recognition according to system prompts and pay for the room they ordered via WeChat or Alipay. At the same time, the air conditioning will be turned on to ensure the optimal temperature when they enter the room.

After the facial recognition, customers can enjoy unlimited services in the dining hall, fitness center, lockers for valuables and other areas in the hotel.

Other smart services are also available, such as adjusting the lights in the room via voice commands. AI can also play songs, chat with customers, and broadcast real-time weather forecasts.

In addition, there are also robots offering room services. They can greet customers and deliver goods for them. If hotel commodities such as daily necessities, food, and drinks are needed, customers can order them in the hotel’s app, and then the robot will pick up and deliver them.
