China’s First Smart Rail-Water Transportation System Has Been Put into Trial Operation

Release:ichongqing Time:2019-08-28 14:43:28

On July 27, the smart rail-water transportation system completed the online trial operation of the whole process of heavy-duty rail-water transportation by a single-vehicle earlier this month. The system is an industrial artificial intelligence (AI) solution made by CISAI Tech. (an enterprise in the Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone). During the dispatching operation, the system was smoothly connected, and the operation of the autonomous locomotive was stable. It’s the first online trial operation of the smart rail-water transportation system in China. This marks the advent of the intelligent and independent driving era for the whole process of rail-water transportation in China’s iron and steel industry.

In March 2019, CISDI Group Co., Ltd. (CISDI) and innovation founded CISAI Tech. as an innovative technology enterprise with the AI application product solution as its core.

Rail-Sea Intermodal Transport

At present, the smart rail-water transportation system has completed a trial run in a steel plant in China. Thousands of sensors and network data transmission and control equipment have been installed on this system, and an AI dispatching system has been built so that the system can achieve all-weather environment awareness and accurate identification of all obstacles of locomotive transportation. Through the digital twin technology, it can realize such functions as intelligent rail-water distribution, intelligent allocation of blast furnaces, intelligent locomotive loading, and smart path selection.

Next, CISAI Tech. will cooperate with CISDI to enhance the layout of relevant projects in Chongqing and countries along the Belt and Road routes, so as to apply this smart transportation system in more enterprises and scenarios.

It’s estimated by CISAI Tech. that after the comprehensive operation of the smart rail-water transportation system, 70% of the manpower would be saved in the factory transportation process, the utilization rate of equipment would increase by 12.5%, and the overall energy consumption would drop by 5% to 10%, thus significantly improving the working environment and the efficiency of rail-water transportation.
