Chongqing Wansheng Heishan Valley (Black Mountain Valley)

As a national 5A-level tourism attraction, Chongqing Wansheng Heishan Valley extends 13 kilometers with major attractions including “One Island, Three Valleys, Five Gorges, Seven Areas, Twelve Peaks, Thirty-six Bridges, Ninety-nine Waterfalls, and One hundred and Eight Lakes”. Its landscape covers lush and steep mountains, limpid lakes and the gurgling brook, thick and splendid forests and quiet and secluded valleys. The most famous are the Beautiful Waterfall, the Floating Bridge, and the Chongqing-Guizhou Rift Valley. With a forest coverage of 97%, the Heishan Valley has diverse species of rare animals and plants, represented by Francois’ langur and Chinese dove trees. With a negative oxygen ion content as high as 110,000 per cubic centimeter, it is known as “the most beautiful health-nourishing valley in China” and “Chongqing-Guizhou biological gene bank”, and it has been chosen as one among the “Twelve Tourism Attractions of Chongqing” for many times in a row. On October 29, 2012, it was rated as a national 5A-level tourism attraction.
