Chongqing Yunyang Longgang Scenic Area

Chongqing Yunyang Longgang Scenic Area is located in the southeast corner of Yunyang County, and closely adjacent to Lichuan in Hubei Province and Wanzhou District and Fengjie County in Chongqing. It is 80 kilometers away from the county town of Yunyang, covering a total area of 217 square kilometers including a core area of 17.2 square kilometers. The scenic area enjoys extraordinary landscapes, countless karst caves, peculiar peaks and stones, sky-high stalagmites, and other magnificent scenic spots in various shapes. Hence, it is known as a museum of natural science and a park of geological landscapes. The main scenic spots include Longgang Tiankeng, Longdong Cave, Sky Lounge Bridge, Laozhaizi, Yingyue Cave, Shisunhe Gorge, Qishan Meadow, and Qingshui Lake. By virtue of the integration of magnificent, peculiar, precipitous, splendid, serene, and comely landscape, the scenic area is reputed as the “Last Shangri-La” in the Three Gorges Area on the Yangtze River. In 2017, it was honored by the National Quality Assessment Committee on the Planning and Development of Tourism Resources as the national 5A-level tourist attraction, becoming the 8th tourist attraction receiving such recognition in Chongqing.
