The State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmissions is positioned in the basic and applied basic research of high-performance mechanical transmission and related fields. Aiming at the major demand of national defense and national economic construction for mechanical transmission and system, focusing on the frontier of high-speed, precision, heavy-duty, intelligent, highly reliable motion and power transmission, focusing on the key scientific issues of transmission system design, manufacturing, testing, materials, etc., it carries out systematic and in-depth basic and applied basic research and key technology research.
The Laboratory has continuously carried out systematic and in-depth research on mechanical transmission and its related fields, and achieved a series of innovative achievements with wide influence at home and abroad, including plane double enveloping hourglass worm drive, forming and machining method of curved parts, spiral bevel gear and hypoid gear drive, high-efficiency transmission system based on new engineering composite materials, virtual instrument and networked manufacturing system, high-reliability and long-life filter transmission technology, key technologies and equipment for precision NC machining of complex modified gears, etc. It has built a first-class research platform covering mechanical transmission design and analysis, processing and manufacturing, testing and testing, material research and development, etc., and has become the most important base for scientific and technological research, talent cultivation and gathering, academic exchange and cooperation of mechanical transmission in China.
