Founded in 1992, Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) is a large state-owned holding company in Chongqing that undertakes the construction and operation of urban rail transit and the development of resources along the line, with the total assets of about RMB 230bn and more than 20,000 employees.

In 2000, the Phase I project of Line 2 by Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) started construction, which opened a new era for Chongqing rail transit. At present, we have operated 12 rail transit lines totally, i.e. Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9,10, as well as the Ring Line, Expo Line, Jiangtiao Line, and Bishan Yunba Demonstration Line, and constructed the largest scale rail transit operation network in mountainous cities in the world, which enters the ranks of world-class rail transit cities. The Chongqing rail transit has covered the entire main city area and gradually extended to the new area of the main city, with an operating mileage of 501 kilometers (Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) operating line is about 409 kilometers, accounting for about 82% of the city's rail transit operating mileage), and the maximum daily passenger volume of 4.719 million.

Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) has made continuous efforts in the construction, operation, management, scientific and technological innovation, etc. of rail transit: it has built the most cross-river railway transits and the longest rail transit mountain tunnels across the country; The construction works have successively won the Zhan Tianyou Award, Luban Prize, FIDIC Award and other domestic and foreign awards; we have fully mastered the three key technologies of straddle type monorail bogie, rail beam and switch; opened the straddle type monorail line - Line 3, with the highest transportation efficiency, the longest single-line operating mileage and the most complicated topographic conditions in the world; created the world's first national technical standard system for monorail transit, and formulated 5 national standards, 5 industrial standards, and 10 local standards for the straddle type monorail, rail transit bridge inspection, etc.; we have first created the interconnected CBTC cross-line operation in China, providing "China solution" for the global urban rail signaling; and successfully built "Liziba Monorail-crossing Building", "Train to Spring", "Train in the Cloud Sea" and other cultural brands.
