Chongqing Railway (Group) Co., Ltd. was established at the end of 2013 as a specialized company in the investment, construction and operation management of Chongqing regional (suburban) railway and urban rail express line projects, and is the backbone subsidiary of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group. At present, the Group undertakes seven projects, including Urban Rail Express Line 15 Phase I, Line 15 Phase II, Line 27 and Urban (Suburban) Railway Jiangtiao Line, Bitong Line, Yuhe Line Phase I and Guanba Railway Special Line, with a construction mileage of about 210km and an investment scale of over 100 billion yuan.

In recent years, under the firm leadership of the Chongqing Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, the Chongqing Railway Group has made every effort to promote the construction of the integrated urban express line network system of “urban (suburban) railway + urban rail express line”, in order to build a “one-hour commuting circle” serving the main urban area, help to create an "urban area on the track".
